The long signature run on this type reflects the BCEAO's structure as a multinational institution serving eight West African franc zone states — each left-side signatory represents a different national directeur, cycling through as political appointments changed across Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, and elsewhere. Abdoulaye Fadiga, who served as BCEAO Governor from 1975 to 1988, appears on the majority of combinations; Alassane Ouattara — later President of Côte d'Ivoire — held the Governorship from 1988 to 1990 before his appointment as Prime Minister, which is precisely why his signature combinations are the fewest and hardest to locate.
The fifteen-year issue window and at least nine distinct signature pairings make systematic collection of this type genuinely demanding.
