| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse presents a central reproduction of the obverse design of the medieval gold florin of Charles I of Hungary, featuring the Florentine lily (fleur-de-lis) accompanied by the circumscribed legend KAROLV∙REX (King Charles). Surrounding this historical motif, the upper rim carries the national inscription MAGYARORSZÁG (Hungary), while the denomination 10 000 and the currency designation FORINT appear in the lower field, the two separated by a dot. The mint year 2012 is positioned to the left and the Budapest Mint mark BP. to the right, flanking the central design between the upper and lower legends. The composition pays homage to the fiorino d'oro of Florence, struck from 1252, which served as the prototype for coinage throughout medieval Europe and is the etymological origin of the forint. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse centers on a faithful reproduction of the reverse of the medieval gold florin of Charles I, depicting the standing figure of St. John the Baptist, patron saint of Florence, circumscribed by the Latin legend S IOHANNES B (Sanctus Iohannes Baptista). A small crown appears at the close of the legend, identified by scholars as a likely reference to the Kingdom of Hungary as issuer rather than a specific mint mark, since it appears on all known specimens and distinguishes these coins from their Florentine prototypes. The upper rim legend reads I. KÁROLY (Charles I) and the lower rim bears the regnal dates 1301–1342, flanked on either side by ornamental Anjou lily motifs. The initials of designer Tamás E. Soltra are incuse below the ornamental motif on the right side. |
