| Obverse description | The Armenian national coat of arms occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief. The twelve zodiac symbols are arranged in a ring surrounding the central device, forming a decorative border. The Armenian legend ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ (Republic of Armenia) appears in the upper portion of the legend, while the Latin equivalent REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA is also inscribed. The date 2008 and the denomination 10000 ԴՐԱՄ / DRAM are positioned in the lower field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse features a finely detailed allegorical figure of the Water-bearer, the personification of the Aquarius zodiac sign, depicted as a kneeling youth pouring water from a vessel. Stars are scattered across the field around the figure, evoking the constellation. The Aquarius symbol (♒) appears to the right of the figure. The Latin legend AQUARIUS arcs across the upper border, while the Cyrillic equivalent ВОДОЛЕЙ is inscribed along the lower border, both in raised lettering against the polished field. |

Part of Armenia's zodiac series issued through the late 2000s, this coin was produced in a limited run intended primarily for the collector market rather than circulation. The series was struck at a period when Armenia's Central Bank was actively expanding its commemorative program, partly as a hard-currency revenue mechanism — a strategy common among smaller post-Soviet states whose collector coin programs generated more foreign exchange than their face values implied.
KM#180 is one of the harder zodiac entries to locate in original packaging, as the series was distributed unevenly across European and Armenian numismatic channels.
