| Aanvullende informatie |
Bosnia and Herzegovina issued this coin in 1996 while still in the immediate aftermath of the Siege of Sarajevo, which had ended only months earlier with the Dayton Agreement of November 1995. The country was simultaneously rebuilding infrastructure, establishing new governmental institutions, and — remarkably — minting commemorative coinage. The Atlanta Olympics provided a diplomatic occasion to assert presence on an international stage.
KM#62 is among the earliest gold issues from the Bosnian series and was struck by a foreign facility, as the country had no domestic mint capable of gold production at the time.
