| 正面描述 | Central design features the Bosnian national coat of arms — a shield with a diagonal band — surmounted above the historic Stari Most (Mostar Bridge). | 背面描述 | A finely detailed high-relief depiction of a Brontosaurus occupies the centre of the field, shown in full profile standing with its elongated neck arched downward and head turned to the left, its long tail curving along the lower right of the field. The species name BRONTOSAURUS is inscribed immediately below the figure, with the denomination D 10000 beneath it in the lower central field. The legend PRESERVE PLANET EARTH curves along the left and upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, forming part of the internationally recognised conservation series issued by Pobjoy Mint. |

Bosnia issued this piece in 1993 while the country was in the middle of a siege and an active war — an unusual moment to authorize a gold commemorative. The "Brontosaurus" designation refers to the paleontological finds at Zvornik, where dinosaur remains were excavated in the late Soviet-Yugoslav academic period, giving the newly independent republic a convenient nationalist symbol that had nothing to do with the ethnic divisions tearing it apart.
KM#3 is one of the earliest coins struck under Bosnian authority, issued before the country had established a functioning central bank.
