| 备注 |
Costa Rica migrated its highest-denomination note to polymer with this 2019 issue, part of a broader regional shift toward substrate security that had been accelerating across Latin America since the late 2000s. Orell Füssli, the Zurich firm that has been printing secure documents continuously since the early sixteenth century, handles the production — one of the older print houses still active in banknote work anywhere in the world.
The transparent window is integral to the polymer substrate rather than applied as a separate insert, which distinguishes it from earlier hybrid security approaches used on Costa Rican notes of the 1990s.
