Opmerkingen

Bolivia's wartime economy ran hot in the early 1940s, driven by tin and tungsten exports to the Allied powers. The resulting inflation pushed denominations upward rapidly, and the 10,000 Bolivianos — a figure that would have been extraordinary just a decade earlier — became a practical necessity rather than a prestige issue. Waterlow & Sons handled the bulk of Bolivian printing through this period, a relationship that had already survived the notorious Waterlow scandal of 1925, when the firm's fraudulent overprinting for Portugal cost it dearly in court.

The series was superseded when Bolivia redenominated in 1963, replacing the Boliviano at 1,000:1 with the Peso Boliviano.
