备注

The adópengő was introduced in January 1946 as an index-linked unit tied to a government price index, a desperate attempt to give Hungarians a store of value while the regular pengő disintegrated around it. It didn't work for long. By late July 1946, both currencies were abolished and replaced by the forint at a conversion rate so extreme it remains the largest denomination redenomination in recorded monetary history — the total pengő and adópengő supply was exchanged at roughly 400 octillion pengő to one forint.

The 10,000 adópengő, staggering as it sounds, was already a mid-range denomination by the time Hungary's hyperinflation peaked.
