Opmerkingen

Bolivia's hyperinflation of 1984–1985 was among the worst in Latin American history, peaking at an annualized rate exceeding 20,000 percent. This note — denominated at ten million pesos bolivianos — was a functional everyday denomination by the time it entered circulation, not a rarity or an emergency issue. The situation became so extreme that the government ultimately redenominated the entire currency in late 1985, replacing the peso boliviano with the boliviano at a rate of one million to one, which rendered this note worth exactly ten of the new units.

Giesecke & Devrient, contracted for the printing, reportedly airlifted consignments of blank banknote paper into La Paz to meet demand during the crisis period.
