| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in dark green on light green tinted paper, the obverse is framed by a continuous typographic border repeating the denomination and issuer name on all four sides. The header carries the institution name 'HESSISCHE LANDESBANK' in bold letterpress, below which the denomination legend '10.000.000 * NOTGELDSCHEIN * UEBER * 10.000.000' appears. A large blackletter vignette inscription 'Zehn Millionen Mark' dominates the centre field, with a circular cartouche at lower left enclosing the Hessian lion coat of arms.
