| 备注 |
Henkel & Cie — the industrial chemicals and soap manufacturer still headquartered in Düsseldorf today — issued this 10-million-Mark notgeld in 1923 at the absolute peak of the Weimar hyperinflation, when the Reichsbank simply could not print fast enough to meet payroll demand. Large employers across Germany were authorized to issue their own emergency wage currency, redeemable against company accounts. Henkel's notes were printed locally by F. Zapp, a Düsseldorf commercial printer, keeping the entire operation within the city.
Corporate notgeld of this denomination and provenance rarely survived — workers spent it within days, sometimes hours, before its purchasing power evaporated further.
