| Obverse description | Printed in black on a pale ochre ground, the obverse carries a large decorative Gothic initial 'Z' forming an ornamental vignette at left, interlaced with floral and foliate motifs, against a faint watermarked underprint of the Bavarian coat of arms. The denomination 'Zehn Millionen Mk. 10000000' is set in bold Gothic blackletter across the centre, with the serial number printed in red at upper right. Below, the date 'München, den 1. August 1923', the issuer's name 'Bayerische Staatsbank', and the directorate designation with two manuscript signatures appear within a fine guilloche border of scalloped design. |
