Issue date 'Glauchau, 18. September 1923' appears above two manuscript facsimile signatures with printed titles, and an anti-counterfeiting warning is set in smaller type at the foot of the text block. |

Glauchau's district authority issued this 10-million Mark note at the absolute peak of Weimar hyperinflation — August 1923, when the Reichsbank's own supply chains had completely collapsed and local administrations across Saxony were left to print their own emergency currency simply to meet payroll and daily commerce. The Rats-Druckerei was a municipal press, not a specialist security printer, which is exactly what you'd expect from Notgeld of this tier.
By the time notes of this denomination were reaching circulation, they were obsolete within days. The Rentenmark stabilization in November 1923 rendered the entire Amtshauptmannschaft series worthless almost immediately after issue.
