| Obverse description | Notgeld issued by the City of Dresden, printed in dark brown on a pink-toned paper ground with a fine guilloche underprint. A bold rectangular panel at the top carries the numeral "10,000,000" in large Gothic figures, beneath which the denomination "Zehn Millionen Mark" is set in heavy blackletter type spanning the full width of the note. The date "Dresden, den 12. September 1923" appears in the lower centre field, flanked by two embossed circular seal vignettes bearing the Dresden city arms, with signature lines for the Oberbürgermeister (Der Rat zu Dresden) and the Hauptkassendirektor (Die Stadthauptkasse) below. |
