Bosnia's 1993 hyperinflation was among the most severe of the Yugoslav successor crises, compressed into an active war economy where supply lines were severed and the monetary system was essentially improvised. The Narodna Banka Bosne i Hercegovine was issuing notes in denominations that would have been unthinkable eighteen months earlier, and the ten-million dinar note arrived not as a considered policy instrument but as a logistical necessity — the arithmetic of daily transactions had simply outrun the existing series.
P#36 belongs to a sequence of emergency overprints and rapidly produced notes from 1993 that are frequently found in poor condition, a function of actual wartime use rather than careless storage.
