| Obverse description | Uniface Notgeld printed in violet-lilac on cream paper, with an overall lace-like floral and leaf underprint covering the entire field. The issuing authority 'Stadtgemeinde Lörrach' is set in Gothic blackletter at the top centre, flanked on both sides by the denomination '10 Milliarden Mark' in smaller blackletter type. The word 'Gutschein über' appears in the centre above the large red letterpress denomination 'Zehn Milliarden' spanning the width of the note, below which the validity clause 'Gültig bis zum Aufruf' is printed. The date 'Lörrach, 20. Oktober 1923', a typeset serial number, and the circular red official seal of the Stadtgemeinde Lörrach appear in the lower portion, alongside the manuscript signature of the Oberbürgermeister; the printer's imprint is set in small Fraktur script along the bottom margin. |
