A caption in Gothic script runs beneath the vignette. The lower half bears the denomination 'Zehn Milliarden Mark' in large red Fraktur type, followed by three lines of black Gothic text certifying the note's recognition as legal tender by the Ministry of the Interior and announcing that redemption notices would be published in the local Überlingen newspapers.
