Additional information

Poland's postwar monetary reform of 1949 replaced the provisional currency that had circulated since liberation with a new socialist coinage, and the Warsaw Mint produced a series of trial strikes in aluminium to test both dies and production tolerances before committing to final compositions. The 1 Złoty ultimately entered circulation in aluminium, but these trial pieces predate that decision and were never intended to leave the mint.

KM# Pr10 is one of several denomination trials from the same reform program, most surviving in mint or institutional collections. The number of confirmed examples in private hands remains small.
