These zlote were struck by the Warsaw Mint during and immediately after the November Uprising — the Polish insurrection against Russian rule that broke out in late 1830. The mint continued operating under the insurgent provisional government before Russian forces retook Warsaw in September 1831, creating a narrow and politically charged window for production. Coins struck during the uprising itself and those struck after Russian reassertion of control share the same type, making attribution by year critical to understanding what political authority actually authorized any given piece.
