Obverse description Laureate bare-headed bust of Tsar Alexander I facing right, rendered in high relief with fine hair detail, occupying the central field. The surrounding legend reads: ALEXANDER I.CES·ROS·WSKRZESICIEL KRÓL.POLS·1815, attributing to Alexander I the title of Emperor of Russia and Restorer of the Kingdom of Poland, with the date 1815 commemorating the establishment of Congress Poland. The legend is separated from the coin's milled border by a beaded inner circle. Notably, although the coin was struck under Nicholas I, the obverse retains the portrait and titulature of Alexander I as originally designed for this series.
