Reverse description The veiled bust of Polonia, allegorical personification of Poland, in left-facing profile, adorned with a wreath of ears of grain and foliage across her brow. Her veil drapes elegantly over her shoulders, rendered with fine linear detail. Stalks of wheat and rye radiate outward from the central effigy, filling the field in a decorative agricultural motif. The incuse inscription PRÓBA appears at the lower left of the bust, identifying this piece as a trial strike. The overall design is executed in a refined Art Deco style.

Additional information

Polish próba coins of the early 1930s occupy a peculiar administrative space: they were struck as trial pieces to test proposed designs or compositions before official authorization, but the State Mint also produced them in small quantities for sale to collectors — a practice that blurred the line between genuine trial strike and deliberate numismatic product. The "raised próba" designation refers to the incuse inscription PRÓBA appearing in relief rather than recessed, distinguishing it from the more common sunken-lettered variants of the same type.

The 1932 zloty series was minted as Poland's interwar economy remained fragile following the 1929 crash, with the government actively managing silver content in circulating coinage.
