Obverse description At left, the Polish state eagle is set within a circular medallion, flanked by two signatures with their respective titles and the date 'WARSZAWA 1 MARCA 1990'; the denomination '1' and legend 'JEDEN ZŁOTY' appear in the upper left corner, with 'NARODOWY BANK POLSKI' in bold lettering along the lower margin. An intaglio vignette of the Gdynia seaport administrative building occupies the right half, captioned 'GDYNIA' below, printed over a multicolour guilloche underprint in blue, red, and orange geometric patterns.

Reverse description An intaglio vignette of the tall ship Dar Pomorza under full sail occupies the left portion of the note, rendered in dark blue-grey tones against a teal and red guilloche underprint with interlocking geometric motifs. At centre right, a large circular guilloche rosette frames a blank field, beside which the stylised 'NBP' monogram appears in script; the denomination '1' and 'JEDEN ZŁOTY' are positioned in the upper right, with 'NARODOWY BANK POLSKI' along the lower margin and a vertical legal tender inscription along the left edge.
