The figure is depicted in a frontal, iconic pose with arms slightly extended in the Byzantine tradition, consistent with the standard Venetian zecchino reverse type. The surrounding Latin legend SIT T XPE DAT Q T REGIS ISTE DVCA, an abbreviated votive inscription meaning 'May this duchy be given to Thee, O Christ, whom we rule,' runs around the outer periphery.
