| Obverse description | St. John the Baptist, nimbed and robed, stands facing left in the field, extending his right hand to present the banner of the Order to the kneeling Grand Master Pietrino del Ponte, who is depicted in armour and wearing the Grand Master's cap. The banner staff divides the field vertically. The initials M and P appear in the upper central field flanking the staff. The surrounding legend reads clockwise in Latin, partially visible along the coin's irregular border. |
