| Reverse description | The Holy Mother Church, personified as a majestic female figure, is depicted seated upon clouds in three-quarter view, holding the crossed keys of Saint Peter in her right hand. To her right stands the Holy Door, an allusion to the Jubilee and the spiritual authority of the Roman Church. The figure is rendered in high relief with classically draped robes, and the composition conveys a solemn, baroque grandeur. The surrounding legend carries the inscription VENI LV MEN CORDIUM dated 1774, invoking the Veni Sancte Spiritus hymn in the context of the papal election. The exergual area is plain, with the date incorporated into the circular legend. |
