Obverse description Saint Mark, depicted in full length standing at left, presents a long staff surmounted by a cross to the kneeling Doge at right; the inscription DVX appears vertically in the central field between the two figures. The Doge is shown in robes with hands extended in a gesture of reception. The composition follows the established Venetian ducal iconographic tradition, with both figures rendered in a flat, Byzantine-influenced style characteristic of medieval Italian hammered coinage. The peripheral legend names the ruling doge.
