Reverse description The reverse depicts a traditional folk-art style scene commemorating the Chinese Year of the Ox. In the left portion of the field, a chubby child figure dressed in traditional festive costume is shown playing a flute. To the right, a stylized ox is shown in profile facing left, adorned with a decorative ceremonial crown or ornament on its back. The design is rendered in low relief with folk-art characteristics typical of Chinese New Year imagery. The two-character cyclical date inscription '己丑' (Jǐ Chǒu, denoting the Earth Ox year in the sexagenary cycle) appears in simplified Chinese characters along the lower portion of the field.
