| Obverse description | Five stylized doves arranged in a radial, W-shaped formation encircle a central depiction of the Temple of Heaven, rendered in a bold, graphic relief style. The interlocking wing forms create a dynamic, pinwheel-like composition in the field. The Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 arcs along the upper periphery, while the English legend THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA follows the lower rim. |

Issued to coincide with the Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing in September 1995 — the largest gathering of its kind, drawing roughly 47,000 attendees including an NGO forum that the Chinese government relocated to Huairou, some 50 kilometers from the capital, amid considerable diplomatic friction. The conference produced the Beijing Platform for Action, which remains the primary UN framework document on gender equality to this day.
