| Obverse description | Central field features a phoenix in profile, head turned to the left, rendered in high relief against a plain field and enclosed within a beaded inner border. The phoenix is depicted with elaborately detailed plumage and stylized clouds. Surrounding the central device, Chinese ideographic legends encircle the coin, reading 'Great Qing Tianjin Official Creation / Year 15 of Guangxu (光绪十五年)'. The overall composition reflects the decorative artistic style typical of late Qing dynasty provincial coinage. |

| Reverse description | A coiled dragon, rendered in deep and elaborate relief, encircles the central field in a sinuous arrangement, its scales and claws finely detailed in the late Qing provincial style. A flaming pearl is depicted above the dragon's head at the top of the coin. Within the central beaded oval border, two large Chinese characters '一圓' (One Yuan) are inscribed in the field. Additional stylized cloud and flame motifs fill the surrounding space, giving the design a dynamic and ornate character. |
