| Obverse description | Central field features a phoenix in profile, head turned to the left, rendered in high relief against a plain field and enclosed within a beaded inner border. The phoenix is depicted with elaborately detailed plumage and stylized clouds. Surrounding the central device, Chinese ideographic legends encircle the coin, reading 'Great Qing Tianjin Official Creation / Year 15 of Guangxu (光绪十五年)'. The overall composition reflects the decorative artistic style typical of late Qing dynasty provincial coinage. |
