Obverse description Left-facing truncated bust of Sun Yat-sen in a plain collar, rendered in high relief with finely modeled hair and facial features characteristic of the Philadelphia Mint engraving style. The effigy is positioned centrally within the field, with the neck truncation falling near the lower rim. A Chinese legend reading 中華民國十八年 (Year 18 of the Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in vertical columns, flanking the portrait on both sides. The entire design is contained within a dentillated border.
