| Obverse description | Bearded three-quarter-facing bust of Yuan Shikai, first President of the Republic of China, oriented slightly to the left within the central field. A decorative floral spray occupies the space below the portrait. A four-character Chinese legend in traditional regular script arcs across the upper field above the effigy, reading 大總統肖像 (Presidential Portrait). The portrait displays fine engraving characteristic of early Republican-era pattern coinage. |
