| Obverse description | Central raised circular boss enclosing two large Chinese ideograms (黔寶) within a beaded inner border. The broad surrounding field is elaborately decorated with a dense floral and foliate wreath composed of stylized blossoms, vines, and berry clusters in high relief, characteristic of the hand-hammered 'silver cake' technique of Kweichow Province. The outer rim is irregular and unfinished, consistent with the primitive casting and striking methods employed at the Kweichow official furnaces. |
