| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged to be read top to bottom and right to left, flanking a vertical column of Manchu script characters. The entire central device is encircled by an outer ring of additional Chinese ideograms forming the denominational and reign-period legend. The inscription references the Guangxu Emperor, the Szechuan provincial mint, and the coin's weight standard of 7 mace and 2 candareens. The design follows the conventional layout of late Qing dynasty provincial coinage, with clearly defined inner and outer legend registers separated by a plain border. |

| Reverse description | A finely detailed Qing imperial dragon occupies the central field, depicted in high relief with a frontal facing head, scaly serpentine body coiled in dynamic fashion, and clawed feet extended among stylized clouds and flames. The dragon clutches a flaming pearl at centre. The circumferential English legend is divided between the upper arc reading 'SZECHUEN PROVINCE' and the lower arc reading '7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS', each separated by small five-pointed star stops. The outer edge is bordered by a continuous beaded rim. |
