| Obverse description | Central field bears the four-character reign title legend 光緒元寶 (Guangxu Yuanbao) in large, bold Chinese script arranged vertically and horizontally within a beaded inner circle. The cyclical date 癸卯 (guimao, corresponding to 1903) appears to the upper right, while the denomination 庫平七錢二分 (seven mace and two candareens, kuping standard) is inscribed along the lower portion. The issuing authority 奉天省造 (Made in Fengtian Province) is prominently displayed across the upper arc between the beaded circle and the milled border. Manchu script flanks the central legend on either side within the inner circle, reflecting the bilingual convention of the late Qing imperial coinage. |
