| Reverse description | Central field depicts a finely detailed coiling five-clawed imperial dragon in high relief, facing the viewer with its head turned forward, grasping a flaming pearl beneath its body. The dragon's scales, whiskers, and flames are rendered with characteristic Kwangtung Mint artistry. The surrounding legend reads KWANG-TUNG PROVINCE along the upper arc and 7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS along the lower arc, all in Latin capital letters between inner and outer beaded borders. Two small floral rosette ornaments serve as separators between the legend segments at the left and right sides. The overall composition closely follows the standard dragon dollar format adopted by Chinese provincial mints during the late Qing period. |
