Reverse description Central intaglio vignette of a tree-lined lake in a park, with a pavilion visible in the middle distance, rendered in dark green on a red guilloche underprint. Serial numbers appear in the upper left and right corners, with denomination numerals ONE flanking the central vignette in ornamental cartouches. The lower portion bears the issuer title BANK OF CHINA and a promise-to-pay text, with printed date 1st October 1909 and two manuscript signature lines for Accountant and Manager.
