Reverse description Central vignette of a Chinese junk under sail, enclosed within a circular frame set against a fine guilloche background printed in blue. The English legend THE CENTRAL BANK OF CHINA and the promise clause PROMISES TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND appear at the top, with the denomination ONE SILVER DOLLAR at left and the date 1949 at the foot.
