| 表面の説明 | Central vignette engraved in intaglio presents the Gate of Heavenly Peace (Tiananmen) in a scalloped cartouche, set against a fine guilloche underprint. The denomination 壹圓 appears in large characters within ornate scroll-work panels to the left and right, with the bank title 中國人民銀行 inscribed across the top within a rectangular panel. Two red seal-script chop marks flank the central vignette, and the date 一九五六年 is rendered below in Chinese characters. |

The First Series Renminbi was introduced in December 1948 as the Communist Party consolidated military control, but individual denominations within the series appeared over a span of years. This 1 Yuan note carries a 1956 date, placing it in the later phase of First Series production, well after the People's Republic was formally established. By that point, the inflationary chaos that had destroyed the Nationalist currency was a recent and deliberate memory — the RMB's early stability was a political priority, not just an economic one.
The printing date of 30 April 1945 in the data almost certainly reflects a catalog or database anomaly rather than actual press work predating the PRC's existence by three years.
