备注

The Bank of Taiwan's 1949 Yuan issues were direct products of the currency reform pushed through in June of that year, when the newly arrived KMT government replaced the collapsing Taiwan Provincial Bank notes and attempted to arrest the hyperinflation that had devastated the mainland. The New Taiwan Dollar was pegged at 40,000 old Taiwan Yen — a ratio that underscored how badly the previous currency had deteriorated.

Printing at the Central Engraving & Printing Plant in Taipei rather than relying on mainland facilities marked a practical shift; by mid-1949, Shanghai was no longer a viable option.
