The subject bears a short moustache and close-cropped hair, rendered with considerable sculptural detail. A six-character Chinese legend arcs across the upper field reading 陸海軍大元帥, meaning 'Army and Navy Generalissimo.' The portrait is surrounded by a beaded inner border and a toothed outer rim.
