备注

The Kwangtung Provincial Bank was one of several provincial institutions that continued issuing notes under Japanese occupation, operating within a currency framework designed to displace Nationalist fiat and draw southern China into Japan's Co-Prosperity Sphere monetary orbit. The 1940 date places this squarely in that transition period, after the fall of Canton in October 1938 but before the full consolidation of puppet banking infrastructure in Guangdong.

Notes from this period are frequently encountered with significant foxing and paper brittleness — a known characteristic of wartime Chinese provincial paper, which was produced under supply constraints that affected fiber quality across the board.
