| 附加信息 |
This dollar was issued to commemorate the founding of the Republic of China in January 1912, with Sun Yat-sen serving as provisional president for just 45 days before ceding the presidency to Yuan Shikai in February. The coin was never a high-volume circulation issue — it functioned more as a political statement than a working trade dollar, announcing the republic's existence to foreign powers and domestic skeptics alike.
Two recognized varieties exist, distinguished by the number of rosettes on the reverse. The six-pointed and five-pointed rosette types carry different collector premiums, and misattribution between them is common in general auction listings.
