| Beschrijving voorzijde | A finely detailed coiling dragon, rendered in high relief in the Japanese artistic tradition, occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The dragon faces right with claws extended and tail curling beneath, its scales and mane rendered with intricate engraving typical of Kano Natsuo's craftsmanship. Six kanji characters arranged vertically on either side of the beaded circle read 'Dai Nippon' (Great Japan) to the left and 'Taishō San-nen' (Year 3 of Taishō) to the right. Below the beaded circle, along the lower periphery between two raised dots, the legend reads '416 · ONE YEN · 900', denoting the coin's weight in grains, denomination, and silver fineness. The entire design is bounded by a continuous outer beaded border. |
