Obverse description Oval brass token with a stylized institutional badge of Nagashima Aisei-en within concentric circles at the top of the field, above the large denomination characters 壹圓 (1 Yen) in relief. Flanking legends identifying the issuer and the internal-use nature of the token appear to the left and right of the denomination, with a rising sun device in the lower field. The border features a repeating decorative wave or cloud pattern within a beaded rim.
