| 正面描述 | Cast bronze cash coin with a central square perforation surrounded by a raised inner rim. Two Chinese characters, 豐貨 (Feng Huo), are arranged vertically in the fields to the left and right of the central hole, rendered in clerical script relief. The legends are bold and well-defined against the flat coin field. An outer rim encircles the periphery of the coin, consistent with the 'with rim' variety as catalogued by Hartill. |

Shi Le founded the Later Zhao in 319, the same year this coin was issued — one of the few instances in Chinese numismatic history where a dynasty's inaugural coinage coincides precisely with its proclamation year. A former slave and cattle trader of Jié ethnicity, Shi Le built a state that controlled much of northern China during the Sixteen Kingdoms period, and his administration made deliberate use of Wu Zhu coinage to project legitimacy borrowed from Han and Jin precedent. The rim, noted in the type designation, distinguishes this from rim-less variants catalogued separately by Hartill.
