Aanvullende informatie

North Korea's foreign-currency collector series, of which this piece is part, was produced specifically for export sale rather than domestic circulation — hard currency generation for the regime, not coinage for its own population. The DPRK has issued dozens of these aluminium novelty pieces since the 1970s, often featuring wildlife wholly unrelated to Korean fauna, sold through intermediaries in China and Eastern Europe.

The duplicate KM references suggest this type was catalogued separately by different numismatic authorities before being reconciled — a persistent problem with DPRK issues, where official mintage data is never released.
