| Reverse description | A detailed frontal portrait bust of Gang Gam-chan (948–1031), the celebrated Goryeo dynasty military commander, dominates the field, depicted wearing a traditional Korean military helmet with ornamental ear guards and a long flowing beard. The Hangul inscription '강감찬' appears to the right of the portrait, with his birth and death dates '948–1031' to the left. The upper legend in Hangul reads '고려의 애국명장' (Patriotic General of Goryeo), and the Juche year and Gregorian date '주체 92(2003)' are inscribed along the lower rim. |
