| Obverse description | Crowned double-headed eagle displayed at center, rendered in a bold, archaic style characteristic of late 14th-century Hanseatic coinage, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A circular legend in uncial Gothic letters surrounds the inner circle, reading the city name of Lübeck. A six-pointed star appears in the outer field above the legend, serving as a dividing mark. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered production. |
