Reverse description A long cross pattée extends to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters, each containing a small ornamental symbol or rosette. At the center of the cross, a small shield bearing the Jülich lion is placed. Eight additional ornamental pellets or rosettes are disposed symmetrically around the central cross composition. The circumferential legend +MOnETA nOVA DVREnSIS, identifying this as a new coinage of Düren, runs around the outer border in Gothic lettering separated by stops.
