| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the rampant lion of Jülich, set within a Gothic trefoil frame composed of three interlocking lobes. The lion faces sinister with clearly rendered mane and claws. The surrounding circular legend is divided by the trefoil cusps and reads in Gothic lettering. The overall composition is characteristic of late medieval Rhenish hammered coinage. |
