Obverse description Central shield bearing the rampant lion of Jülich, set within a Gothic trefoil frame composed of three interlocking lobes. The lion faces sinister with clearly rendered mane and claws. The surrounding circular legend is divided by the trefoil cusps and reads in Gothic lettering. The overall composition is characteristic of late medieval Rhenish hammered coinage.

Reverse description Shield bearing the displayed eagle of Guelders, superimposed at the center of a floriated or floral cross with ornamental terminals in each quadrant. The eagle is depicted with spread wings and detailed feathering typical of late medieval heraldic style. A circular peripheral legend in Gothic lettering surrounds the central design, separated from the inner field by a beaded border.
